Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree suspending the execution of the Treaty between the Russian Federation and the USA on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range.
The press service of the Kremlin reported that the document is signed, “based on the need for urgent action in connection with the violation of the United States of its obligations under the Contract”.
In addition, the President of the Russian Federation instructed the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation sent to the States parties to the Treaty notification of suspension of its performance.

We will remind, the Agreement on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles was signed in 1987, the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Mikhail Gorbachev and U.S. President Ronald Reagan.
The agreement forbade the parties to manufacture ballistic and cruise nuclear land-based missiles with ranges of 500 to 5,500 km, as well as their testing and deployment.
