Roscomnadzor started testing equipment in-depth traffic filtering (DPI) on the territory of the Ural Federal district. About it writes RBC.

The interlocutor of the edition notes that the equipment is already installed in Yekaterinburg, soon it will appear in the Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Magnitogorsk and other cities. “The testing is conducted mainly on fixed networks, that is, affects users of Internet at home. This week it was reported that Roskomnadzor began to establish networks of providers the equipment needed to isolate the Russian Internet. “Since the end of September in a few weeks we will be testing it. Earlier, Reuters reported that Russian operators will check for users in Tjumen equipment for blocking Telegram. Roskomnadzor started blocking Telegram in April last year due to the failure to provide the FSB the key to deciphering the correspondence of the users. The messenger works with the majority of Russians.
