The NBU said about the imbalances in the labour market

Labour migration is one of the main risks of economic development of Ukraine. This is stated in the inflation report for July 2018 published on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

“The continued outflow of labor from Ukraine at a high rate will generate a further increase in imbalances between supply and demand on the labour market, accompanied by wage growth and, consequently, inflation together with the reduction potential of the economy”, – the document says.

Most of all, according to the national Bank, labour migration prevents an increase in the rate of production in construction, industry, agriculture, transport and communications. It is in these types of activities, in particular, nearly half of the Ukrainians who have applied for employment in Poland in 2017.

According to the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, in 2017 the country has left more than 1 million Ukrainians, monthly from the country, leaving about 100 thousand people.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Gennady Zubko considers labour migration one of the biggest threats to the state after military aggression. In his opinion, the migration of Ukrainians to stop the increase in the average wage to 16 thousand UAH.

According to forecasts Director of the Institute of demography and social studies of NAS of Ukraine Ella Libanova, place abroad the Ukrainians will be people from Asian countries.

According to public opinion research, which was conducted by Kyiv international Institute of sociology in November–December of 2017, almost every third citizen of Ukraine thought about emigration, every fourth does not believe that Ukraine will stand on its feet as an independent state.
