In Lviv on the street Doroshenko, 9 mayor Andriy Sadovy has opened a mural dedicated to the soloist of the Paris Opera Vasily Slipko, who was killed in a war zone in the Donbas 29 Jun 2016. This was reported on 29 June, the website of the municipality of the city.

The mural, which depicts Slipak in two forms – warrior and an Opera singer, called “Our Slipak – eternal myth,” in war, he used call “Myth”.

In the opening of the mural was attended by the brother of Basil, Orest Slipak.

Vasily Slipak was mortally wounded by a sniper near the village Lugansk Donetsk region June 29, 2016. About 20 years sang in Opera in France. Since the beginning of the conflict in the Donbas participated in anti-terrorist operations part of the volunteer corps “Right sector” under the Callsign Myth.

Former representative of Ukraine in the tripartite contact group Roman Bezsmertny stated that the terrorists killed the singer deliberately – before the next round of the Minsk talks.

In February 2017, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has assigned Slipko the title of Hero of Ukraine.

In October 2018 in Paris on the facade of the Ukrainian Cultural-information center there was a plaque to Slipko.
