Alla Cherkasov

This is the first award of the Ukrainian wrestlers in the world championship on wrestling, which takes place in Budapest.

Ukrainian woman Alla Cherkasova won the gold medal in the weight category up to 68 kg at the world championship in wrestling, which takes place in Budapest.

Cherkasova yesterday in 1/8 final won the confidence of Mary Mamaluk from China (10:0), in the quarterfinals took over the representative of Bulgaria Victoria Ivanova Boevoy (4:0), and in the semifinals won by a Chinese woman Feng Zhou (12:8).

In the decisive match for “gold” Cherkasov met with French Kumba Selenium Fanta of Larok. The French were the better side in the beginning and I won the first period 4:0, but Cherkasova managed to attack in the middle of the second period, during which she earned 15 points. For the remaining time of Larok reduced the score to 15:10, but this was not enough, the Ukrainian became world champion.

This is the first medal for Ukraine at the world championship 2018. As for Cherkasova, at the world Championships it was her second medal in 2010 she won the bronze medal.
