The Central electoral Commission of Ukraine on November 29 adopted a decision on the termination of the electoral process in the United communities 10 areas in which martial law was imposed. About it reports a press-service of the Commission.

The CEC reminded that in Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv regions in the period for which martial law was planned first and additional local elections, as well as intermediate and re local elections.

“In this regard, the Commission drew the attention of actors and other participants in the electoral process of local elections held in areas in which martial law, in strict compliance with the requirements of part 1 of article 19 of the law of Ukraine “On legal regime of martial law” on the prohibition of the conduct of elections”, – stated in the message.

The CEC added that the elections in these regions can be held after termination or cancellation of martial law.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, signed resolution No. 9342 of appointment of date of elections of the President of Ukraine on 31 March 2019. As stated on the website of the Parliament, the decree was signed on 28 November and now has a number 2631-VIII.

The decree comes into force from the date of adoption. The Verkhovna Rada voted for this decision on the evening of 26 November, after voting for the imposition of martial law in the country.
