The Secretary of national security and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said that he does not want to participate in the parliamentary elections in 2019. He said this in an interview with TSN, which was released on 21 March.
Asked about future plans, Turchynov noted that it is easier to call it what he wanted.
“I wouldn’t want to go back to the people’s Deputy, to go to the polls. I would not want to participate in very specific and complex electoral processes. I’m not going to even go to the parliamentary elections,” he said.
Turchinov refused to discuss speculation that he could occupy the post of Prime Minister.
“I know that when the country again will be difficult, will again be the danger – call and we will come again,” said Secretary of the NSDC.
From February to June 2014, Turchynov as the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada acting President of Ukraine after Victor Yanukovych’s escape. In December of the same year appointed Secretary of the NSDC.
Turchynov told TSN that the presidential elections of 2019 will support running for a second term Petro Poroshenko.
