The Swiss ice hockey Federation (SIHF) considers unfair the Union women’s hockey teams of the DPRK and South Korea at the Olympic games in 2018 in Pyeongchang, said the head of the communications SIHF Janos Kik.

Earlier Wednesday, the representatives of the DPRK and South Korea held several meetings in the demilitarized zone between the two countries and reached a number of agreements regarding participation in the Olympics in 2018. In particular, it was decided that the Games in Pyeongchang, the two countries will form a single team in women’s hockey.

“From the point of view of sport and all the teams that put a lot of money and resources into their women’s teams, we do not support the Union, because it is unfair and distorts competition,” said Janos Kik.

While the CFC noted that if the two countries can get closer through hockey, “it will be a positive sign from the point of view of world politics.”
