A collapse in electricity prices occurred due to a sharp decline in purchases of the holding DTEK, said in NKREKU.

The national Commission for energy and utilities (NKREKU) felt guilty in the collapse of the market electricity holding DTEK Rinat Akhmetov. This is stated in the statement of the regulator.

The Commission believes that electricity prices fell due to the reduction of holding her purchases in the market “for days forward”.

Also NKREKU said charges in creating the crisis in the energy sector.

“Clearly traced the black PR-campaign for individual members of the national Commission, which is openly ordered,” say the Commission.

In this situation, the regulator plans to set minimum prices on the market “for days forward” at the level of 980 UAH/MWh in the day period and 567 UAH/MWh at night.

“This decision will help to stabilize the price situation on the market, if individual members will continue the campaign,” believe in NKREKU.

The regulator, together with the Antimonopoly Committee obesite to take action in relation to the actions of market participants.

Earlier, the head of the energy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Gerus said that for several days prices on the electricity market of Ukraine fell by 35%. According to him, this happened due to the fact that bids for purchase at the “market” has disappeared more than 20 000 MWh, or about 30% of the market.
