The rescue operation continues

Rescuers found and brought to the surface the bodies of two miners who went missing on Saturday, may 5, after the accident at the mine “Sofiyvka” in the South of Poland, where previously collapsed, resulting aftershocks.

The search operation to locate three more miners continues, reports UKRINFORM.

As informed the Chairman of Jastrzembski coal company, which includes mine, Daniel Ozone, found the bodies of two miners during the day, brought to the surface.

At the same time, after lunch, search-and-rescue operation had to be slow and from time to time to suspend the new tremors in the area of the mine. Due to the high concentration of methane in the area of the accident rescue workers lay a pipeline through which the air will come in the area of operations.

In the rescue operation Sunday at the same time was attended by about 100 rescuers. On Monday, the search operation will continue.

On Sunday, the mine was visited by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, who visited injured miners in hospital and met with the families of the miners who died and went missing.

On Monday, local prosecutors will take a decision on initiation the criminal case on the accident.
