Team SAR on hockey defeated the team of Czech Republic and reached the final tournament of the Olympic games in Pyeongchang, guaranteeing themselves at least silver medals.

The semifinal meeting, held on Friday in Gangneung, ended with the score 3:0 (0:0, 2:0, 1:0) in favor of the “red machine”, as they call the SAR team of the Russian fans. In the “machine” goals scored Nikita Gusev (28-I minute), Vladislav Gavrikov (29) and Ilya Kovalchuk (60). Their goal saved by goalkeeper SAR Vasily Koshechkin.

Later on Friday in the second semifinal match will play the teams of Canada and Germany (beginning at 14:10 Kiev time), the finals will be held on Sunday – the closing day of the Olympics-2018.

The last time the Russian hockey players participated in the final match of the Olympic Games in Nagano in 1998. Then the Russians lost to team Czech Republic and won the silver award.
