Poroshenko met with Tillerson

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the world economic forum met in Davos with US Secretary of state Rex Tillerson. The head of Ukrainian state said at a press conference, the correspondent of the edition “GORDON”.
Poroshenko said that the meeting lasted an hour.
“Very thoroughly discussed issues of economic cooperation. Investments by U.S. companies increase dramatically. In particular, we discussed cooperation with General Electric, which plans to supply locomotives for Ukrzaliznytsia, and cooperation with other U.S. investors. It was stated that American investors notice and approve fundamental changes in the investment climate of Ukraine, including the results in the fight against corruption,” said Poroshenko.
He added that he agreed with Tillerson about the resumption of meetings of the Commission on strategic partnership of Ukraine and the USA.
“In March it will be 10 years since it was founded, was not very long ago meetings. In March, this meeting will take place”, – said the President.
He added that Tillerson informed about the release of Ukrainian hostages in the Donbas.
Policy discussed security issues, in particular UN peacekeeping mission to Donbas, as well as sanctions against Russia.
“I am confident that this policy is effective. It is important for us to have this mechanism of influence in order to bring Russia back to the negotiating table and provide the de-occupation of the Donbass and the liberation of the Crimea”, – said the President.
Poroshenko arrived in Davos on 24 January and has already held a series of talks with world leaders.
