The match Anthony Joshua with Kubrat Bullet will be in the UK.
World champion in the heavyweight versions of WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight Anthony Joshua in 2020 will hold only one fight. This was told by his promoter Eddie Hearn.
Because before the battle, Joshua is a long training, and pandemic coronavirus has made adjustments in the schedule, then the British will have time this year only to meet with Kubrat Bullet.
“Now we have to admit that this year Anthony Joshua will be able to hold only one fight. We had planned a duel with a Bullet in August and then another in December. But fighting Anthony need large-scale training, so there is only one fight,” said Hearn.
The promoter also admitted that the fight may not be in the UK. If the country will not open borders, closed because of the pandemic, and will not permit holding of mass events it is likely that the organizers will have to find another location.
“If September in Britain will not be able to carry out fights with the audience, the protect Joshua against Pulev could be in a different place. We had a number of proposals from the Middle East, China and Croatia. First and foremost, we want to use every opportunity to fight in Britain, but we understand that this may be impossible,” Hearn is quoted by Sky Sports.
Earlier, the promoter spoke about the likelihood of a battle between Joshua and fury, noting that the fight can be two.
We will remind, Kubrat Pulev is the mandatory Challenger for a fight against Anthony Joshua. The Bulgarian said he was confident in his victory over rival.
