Photo: AP Ukraine needs to accumulate 2.6 million tons of coal for the heating season

As of September 10 the stock is more than 1.9 million tons of coal. This was 7% higher than in 2017.

Over 10 days of September the inventory level of coal and gas anthracite groups on TPP and CHPP of Ukraine increased by 3.4% and exceeded proshlogodnie volumes.

This is evidenced by data the Ministry of energy and coal industry, published on Monday, September 10.

In particular, as at 31 August 2018 in the warehouses were stored 853,8 1 million tons of gas coal and anthracite groups. And already on September 10 the Ukrainian TPPs, there were 1 million 916,5 thousand tons of coal.

Thus 10 days of September, coal stocks increased by 62,7 thousand tons or by 3.4%.

Thus, according to the Ministry, the volume of stocks is 7% higher than 2017.

Recall that in late July, the Cabinet approved the plan of measures on preparation for the heating period . According to the document, the gas reserves in underground storage facilities by 1 November 2018 should amount to 17 billion cubic meters of coal, 2.6 million tonnes (including anthracite brands – 1 million tons, and gas and 1.6 million tonnes) and fuel oil 130 tons.

On Friday, 7 September, Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman said that Ukraine is ready to timely start the heating season, however, the responsibility for implementing this lies with the local authorities.
