Sternenko declared that he intend to give a suspicion of intentional homicide

The security service of Ukraine called Odessa activist Sergey Sternenko on the 9th June for the delivery of a written suspicion. About this Sternenko reported to Facebook on June 7. He also published a scanned copy of the agenda.
“The investigator I have already sent an answer that can’t be for objective reasons. The call was received two days prior to the date, and [the code of criminal procedure] article 135 specifies that there must be at least three days”, – the activist wrote.
According to him, given the weekend he will not have time “to prepare for the presentation of suspicion and draw defenders”.
“If they want, let them call for another date so I can properly exercise their right to defense”, – said Sternenko.
He said that the suspect is prepared according to article 115 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (premeditated murder).
The presentation of suspicious Sternenko considers how the prosecution, in which he blames the Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov and the Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.

In the first half of 2018 on Sternenko attacked three times. On 7 February, the activist was beaten up in Odessa, on may 1, he was shot. Adviser to the head of the Odessa Department of the national police Ruslan Forostyak stated that the preliminary qualification of a second attack on Sternenko – hooliganism with the use of traumatic weapons. Later it became known that the police are investigating an attack on Sternenko on the article about the murder.
May 24, in the third attack, the activist received damage to the hand and head injury. However, he struck one of the attackers a deadly knife in the abdomen. The second attacker, Alexander Isikul, then ran away, reported to Sternenko.
Lawyer Masi Nayyem in April 2019 said Isikul left Ukraine and has not returned.
In may of the same year Sternenko declared that the masterminds behind the attack on him was Gennady Trukhanov and businessman Vladimir Galanternik.
October 9, the Prosecutor General’s office sent the criminal proceedings against attacks on Sternenko the SBU to check information about involvement in the incidents of local officials and police.
In April 2020, the public Prosecutor Irina Venediktova said that sooner or later Sternenko will be announced on suspicion of murder or exceeding the limits of necessary self-defense.
In mid-may became Sternenko victim in the case of the attack on him. The activist said that he was summoned for giving the suspicion, but because of public outcry, the SBU refused to charge.
