Future missions can determine whether the planet’s atmosphere.
TESS space telescope has discovered its first planet the size of Earth in habitable zone – TOI d 700. It revolves around the star, and it could potentially be a life. New planet rotates with a period of 37 days around the red dwarf TOI 700, noted in NASA.
Within 11 months the star found no outbreaks, and it increases the chances of a planet to be habitable. The TOI system 700 also has two planets nearest to the star – stone, with a rotation period of 10 days. The middle planet, which can be a gas, rotates in 16 days reports zn.ua.
Future missions may be able to determine whether these three planets atmosphere, and if so, to determine even their composition.
“TESS was developed and launched specifically to search for planets the size of Earth orbiting nearby stars,” said Paul Hertz, Director of astrophysics at the headquarters of NASA in Washington.
TESS during his two-year mission should help scientists find a new planet suitable for life. It is assumed that the telescope is equipped with four wide-angle cameras that will study more than 200 thousands of stars at a distance of 300 light years. The satellite will be to look on the bright background of stars, tiny spots that may be planets. Scientists expect to detect several thousand planets, which in the future will be more in depth other telescopes.
