Latvian forward has told about his transfer to Kiev club.

The former Dynamo Kiev striker Maris Verpakovskis remembered the period of performances for the “white-blue”.

“Though I have already had a certain experience, but the transition to Dynamo in 2003 year was a huge leap in my career. At that time Kiev was the team of the group stage of the Champions League. Every year this team played in the European Cup, so for me Dinamo was initially some space.”

“Anyway, I didn’t take much time to adapt. I think it was largely due to the fact that Skonto has built on a high professional level work in Latvia. The team had great coaching staff led by Alexander Starkov, perfect infrastructure, their stadium and training base”.

“I can say that Alex Mickle trust me. For a beginner it was very important. Unfortunately, after defeat in the Champions League qualification Mikhailichenko was dismissed, and for me it was a big blow. Although clogs initially continued to put me in composition, including in the Champions League, but when the previous coach I felt a lot more confidence” – quoted Verpakovskis official website of “white-blue”.

Recall that Verpakovskis played for Dynamo from 2003 to 2007. Olexiy Mykhailychenko was coaching Dynamo in the 2003/04 season.

Earlier Verpakovskis told me what difficulties he had to face the capital club.
