Olefirov in 2014 was Ukraine’s Ambassador to Finland, and, concurrently, in Iceland

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko was released from his post of Ambassador to Finland Andriy Olefirov. This is stated in the text of the decree No. 232/2019 published on the website of the Ukrainian President on may 16.

“In accordance with paragraph 3 of part 1 of article 29 of the law of Ukraine “On diplomatic service of Ukraine” to accept the resignation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Finland and the Republic of Iceland part-time Olefirova Andrei Vladimirovich”, – the document says.

Olefirov was the Ambassador of Ukraine in Finland in August 2014. Prior to that, he worked as the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs.

As reported by the Finnish press, 18 September 2018, the diplomat was seriously injured after falling from stairs in the building of the Embassy. The foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported that the accident happened. In the winter of 2019 Olefirov was transported for treatment to Ukraine.
