Poroshenko: We will renew and increase the Maritime glory of Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated in Facebook Ukrainian sailors Day naval forces.
“On behalf of the Ukrainian people sincerely thank the entire personnel composition of the naval forces of Armed forces of Ukraine for their devotion to military duty, courage and heroism. Believe that together we will renew and increase the Maritime glory of Ukraine and the state flag on our ships will be raised again in the bays of the Ukrainian Sevastopol”, – he stressed.

Russia annexed Crimea after the illegal referendum on 16 March 2014. The annexation of Crimea by Russia is not recognised by Ukraine and most countries of the world.
11 January 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is ready to give Ukraine the military ships and aircraft from the Crimea.
Only in the Crimea until March 2014 were 21 ship of the Ukrainian Navy and 50 auxiliary vessels. A few pieces disposed of at the beginning of March 2014, by decision of the Ministry of defense of Ukraine.
The points remain black sea fleet large landing ship “Konstantin Olshansky”, the Corvette “Ternopil”, sea trawler “Cherkassy”, the submarine “Zaporizhia” and others.
