The majority of pensioners receive a pension of four thousand hryvnias, which is below the actual subsistence minimum.

In Ukraine 82,7% of pensioners receive a pension of up to 4 thousand UAH, which is below the actual subsistence minimum, the press service of the Ministry of social policy.

“82.7 per cent of pensioners receive a pension of up to 4 thousand UAH, which is below the actual subsistence minimum, is the key problem which needs to be solved”, – quotes Deputy Minister of social policy Natalia Anychance the press service of the Ministry.

According to her, in the presence of limited financial resource of solidarity pension system, informal employment, shadow wages and given the fact that only 5% of workers participate in private pension scheme (with the majority paid contributions are not regular and insufficient amount), the level of pensions, future retirees will decline.

She emphasized that improper government regulation inclusive environment and accessible services that enable the elderly to integrate into society, lead a fulfilling life.

We will remind, since April, the pension age for women will increase by six months to 59.5 years
