The people’s Deputy of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko said that in response to sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities of Ukraine Kiev should impose new targeted sanctions aimed at the economic interests of Russian President Vladimir Putin, businessmen and officials from his entourage.

“[The sanctions list of the Russian Federation] made, in my opinion, of the 4 groups:

1. Those political and social leaders who really struggle with Russian aggression.

2. Those officials who must confront the nature of their duties.

3. The Ukrainian businessmen who have property in Russia and on the territory of occupied Ukraine’s Crimea and Donbas, and they want stupid to take away.

4. Persons who are agents of Russia in the Ukrainian politics and economy and which thus want to legalize before the parliamentary elections”, – wrote Gerashchenko on his page in Facebook.

According to him, for those who have no assets and need to travel to the Russian Federation for personal or commercial issues, these sanctions are “symbolic”.

“For those businessmen and politicians who have property in the occupied Crimea and the Donbass – this is a real problem. Their assets will be frozen and confiscated,” – says the MP.

He also believes that in response to the package of Russian sanctions, Ukraine needs to impose new targeted sanctions aimed at the economic interests of Putin, the Russian businessmen and officials close to him.

“We must begin with the confiscation of property of those MPs and senators who voted for the annexation of Crimea in March 2014. The SBU and the national security Council do you know who I mean,” added Gerashchenko.

As you know, Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev on 1 November signed a decree of the government of the Russian Federation No. 1300 on the introduction of special economic measures against 322 of Ukrainian citizens and 68 companies.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to impose new sanctions against Ukraine in response to the restrictive measures which had been announced by Kiev. It is noted that Putin’s decree of sanctions against Ukraine will be cancelled only in response to the lifting of restrictive measures imposed Kiev.
