June 1 at the stadium “Metalist” held its first Talent Day: boys born in 2006 had tried to force a field in the presence of trainers-breeders Academy “orange and black”.
The participants formed six groups of 16 people and conducted a series of short matches at six venues. A chance to qualify in the Academy odinnadtsatimetrovye the champion of Ukraine was the main motivation. In total, the competition lasted about three hours. The viewing was attended by children from Kharkov, Nikolaev, Dnepr, Kherson, Lugansk and Donetsk region.
The bouts were closely observed by the trainer-breeder of FC Shakhtar Academy Vasily Popov: “the event was attended by many children. In my opinion, this is their first step to the Academy of our club. First of all, pay attention to the technique with the ball and game thinking. Today, it has lit up six or seven guys. Took them on a pencil, we will communicate with parents, and when the time comes, invite to us. Everyone’s eyes are burning, a huge desire to play football and dream to play for Shakhtar! Excellent initiative: it is necessary to continue and to cover more cities in the country”.
The first ever Talent Day ended on a positive note: the tabulation of results, presentation of gifts and a joint photo shoot. Shakhtar Social gives children the opportunity to realize their dream and get into the Academy. In the near future Talent Day will be held in Lviv and Mariupol.
