The UK is going to arrest the Russian capital of dubious origin

London will adopt new sanctions in connection with the “slalom Skripal”

The UK authorities issued warrants for the arrest of “questionable assets” of Russian origin. The reason for this step was the poisoning in Salisbury, the former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia. London blamed the attack on Russia, Moscow denies the charges.

British defense Secretary Gavin Williamson said at a press conference in Tallinn that the United Kingdom authorities intend to arrest the Russian capital of dubious origin, especially in respect of such assets recently launched a new law.

“Our goal is to ensure that any inexplicably mined assets was taken into consideration, and necessary steps have been taken” – quoted by Williamson “Interfax”. The official noted that the government is already working on this issue.

The defense Minister also allowed himself harsh statements against Russia. According to him, is a split between Britain and its allies, but Estonia and many other countries has shown that this is impossible.

Earlier, British Prime Minister Theresa may has promised to freeze the accounts associated with the Russian government, if they suspect that they can be used to harm British citizens.

UK public bodies can now demand explanations from the foreign owners of companies and real estate worth more than 50 thousand pounds (71 thousand dollars), and the relevant accounts in case of questions regarding the origin of funds. If the owner of the asset fails to give explanation satisfactory to the court, his property will be seized.
