Pompeo explained the meaning of meetings with members of the Russian intelligence care about Americans

The head of the CIA Michael Pompeo in his letter to the leader of the Democratic party in the U.S. Senate explained that the staff of his office hold meetings with members of the Russian intelligence on a regular basis to ensure the safety of US citizens, Reuters reports.
“We meet regularly with our colleagues in the Russian intelligence for the same reasons as our predecessors — to ensure the safety of Americans,” said Pompeo.
He also noted that during these meetings, we discussed “complex issues where U.S. and Russian interests do not coincide”.
