Sakvarelidze: Top corrupt officials in power do not care about the public opinion

Ex-Deputy Prosecutor General David Sakvarelidze in the comment to the edition “GORDON” called stupid all charges in the address of the first Deputy Director of the NAB Rizo Uglava, whom the Prosecutor suspected of tax evasion and the concealment of the citizenship of Georgia.

“This is absolutely stupid accusations. First, under the Constitution and laws of Georgia, the man who adopts the citizenship of another country automatically loses Georgian citizenship. And Uglava Ukrainian citizenship granted by the President of Ukraine on 17 April 2015. Second, “tax evasion” is stupid, too. According to the norms of the Tax code of Ukraine, returns are filed before may 1 of the year following the reporting year, and the amount of tax obligation is paid prior to August 1 of this year. Tax return of property status and income for 2016 was filed on time, and the period of payment of the tax has not yet expired,” – said Sakvarelidze.

He focused on the fact that the NEB poses a serious problem to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov, ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and ex-people’s Deputy from “popular front” Mykola Martynenko.

“By the way, under a considerable amount of funds in article 212 of the criminal code of Ukraine refers to the amount of 800 thousand UAH. This means that even if tax is not paid before August 1, its amount was insufficient for a criminal investigation. Uglava all declared and taxes paid, it can be easily verified. Sorry, other words, you can not pick up, but it’s stupid and silly pocket charges of the Prosecutor against Poroshenko, the only body in Ukraine, which is fighting corruption. Not just fighting, but creates real problems for the clan Poroshenko, Akhmetov, Yatsenyuk, Martynenko and the like. The corrupt in power by any means want to get rid of a headache, like NABOO, so come up with a baseless investigation”, – said the interlocutor.

According to him, the government wants to protect themselves from Plavy and the head of NABOO Artem Sytnik.

“Top corrupt officials in power do not care about public opinion, don’t care who actually support people, they just want to protect themselves from Plavy, Sytnyk and other kids – the only one in the law enforcement sector! – to protect the Ukrainian society. As stated in the decision of the Pechersk district court of Kyiv on 13 may, the Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine is conducting an investigation against first Deputy head of the NABOO Guizot Uglava on suspicion of tax evasion and the concealment of the citizenship of Georgia.

According to the General Prosecutor of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko, a statement of the offence Uglovoy filed a legal company and two deputies. He says that now the GPU only validates that statement.

The former people’s Deputy from “popular front” Mykola Martynenko stated that Uglava actually manages NABOO, not his head Sytnyk. He also said that the NABU is “politicized branch of the Georgian mafia”.
