The Cabinet of Ministers approved a decree on electronic passports in the application Da. This was announced by the Ministry of the digital transformation of Ukraine in Facebook.

“Now more than 17 thousand Ukrainians testing e-passports, and very soon they will be available to everyone in the mobile app De. The passport smartphone will allow not to carry ID-cards and extracts from it”, – reported in Department.

The Ministry said that if you do not have an ID card, you can download Du foreign biometric passport, it will also assure your identity and provide the same rights and opportunities as paper, operating within the country.

According to Minsitry, e-passports can be used for ID if you are stopped by the police, as well as at the post office, upon receipt of parcels, letters and the purchase of alcohol or tobacco to confirm adulthood.

At the end of the quarantine e-passport will also be useful: while traveling by rail or air transport and during medical care and banking operations; upon receipt of administrative services.

The Ministry drew attention that Ukraine is the first country in the world where it is possible to use digital passport and at the same time not to present a paper or plastic counterpart. Now app users Da are already more than 2.1 million Ukrainians.
