Imports grew also thanks to the storage of gas to neighboring countries

Since the beginning of the current year Ukraine has received nearly 4 billion cubic meters of gas, while the previous year’s 2.5 billion.

Four months 2020 Ukraine imported from Europe 3.9 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 1.4 cubic meters, or 59% more than in the same period of 2019. About it reports a press-service of the Operator GTS.

It is noted that the volume of imports from Poland include a virtual reverse of 0.38 billion cubic meters.

In particular, in April Ukraine imported 1.13 billion cubic meters of gas, which is almost 25% (255 million cubic meters) more than the previous year.

The increase in receipts of gas from EU countries to OGTS explain the increase in the demand for a new service short-haul. For the month of April on short-haul in Ukraine received 264 million cubic meters of gas (from Hungary – 64%, Poland – 21%, Slovakia – 15%).

“All of these volumes traders are sent for storage in Ukrainian underground storage facilities in the “customs warehouse”, – noted in OHTS.

By estimations of the Operator of the GTS, Ukraine needs to pump for the heating season 2-3 billion cubic meters of gas.
