The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced from 1 may 2020 duty on import of coal from Russia in the amount of 65%. Such actions were a response to restrictive measures from the Russian side and will support the Ukrainian market of electricity.

The corresponding decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting on 15 April. So, Russia has already introduced a number of restrictive measures against Ukraine. A whole group of the goods delivered in Russia only with special permission. In this case, as stated in the explanatory note to the decision, Ukraine will receive the right to retaliate.

“In October-December 2019 rapidly increased in the volumes of imported Russian electricity. It is in Russia no free electricity market. Exclusive right to conclude contracts of import-export of electricity in Russia is the state company “inter RAO”, the essential part which belongs to “Russian NPP”. This company does not allow their markets to other countries. At the same time, accompany concludes direct contracts with Ukrainian consumers”, – stated in the decree.

Note, including the import of coal from Russia under attack the entire coal industry of Ukraine. So, “DTEK Energo” made the decision to suspend work of the enterprise “DTEK Pavlogradugol” and three concentrators.

Prior to this, the General Director of “Energoatom trading” Sergey bidyn said that because of the crisis in the market of electric power NNEGC “Energoatom” has not received more than 4 billion UAH for the electricity supplied from the GP “Guaranteed buyer”, which supplies 85% of all nuclear electricity for the needs of the population, and as a result, the company currently could not provide the purchase and export of nuclear fuel.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, provoked by the crisis in the energy market shortage of funds, the company NAEK “Energoatom” can cause cardiac nuclear units.
