Hurricane “Maria” hit Puerto Rico on 20 September last year

Authorities in Puerto Rico are going to recognize 2975 people dead due to hurricane Maria. This was stated by the Governor of the island.

“We take the number 2975 as the official number of victims,” – said the official.

Previously, experts by order of the authorities in Puerto Rico issued a report stating that a hurricane that struck the island in September 2017, claimed the lives of nearly three thousand people.

Hurricane “Maria” hit Puerto Rico on 20 September, leaving the island without electricity and returning its economy to solely cash and barter.

Corporate clients were sent to banks urgent requests for cash in connection with the need to pay salaries, and banks do not have enough armored vehicles to meet the demand.
