U.S. Ambassador to Russia John huntsman took part in a traditional bathing in Russia on Epiphany. He decided to compete with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the number of dives in the icy water. On this the huntsman declared on air of TV channel Fox News.
“When you are immersed in the water of such low temperature, you almost cease to own muscles and the respiratory system. I wanted to dip three times, because President Putin did the same, he said. – This sends an important signal about whether the people of the United States to perform this ritual in the right way”.
The huntsman took part in Epiphany bathing in 2018.
The huntsman was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Russia in October last year, succeeding John Tefft; before that, he worked in every presidential administration since Ronald Reagan. 57-year-old American profess Mormonism and holds a bachelor of arts degree in international politics.
