In “the Crimean Declaration” U.S. Department of State is nothing new. This is stated in the comment of the Russian Embassy in the United States in Facebook.

“Declarations and statements on Crimea, the state Department performs a quarterly basis. Nothing new we have not heard. Was just making sure that the partners live in a different reality. They are trying to operate international legal instruments containing provisions on the right of peoples to self-determination, which formed the basis of the return of the Crimea to Russia in 2014”, – said Russian diplomats.

The Embassy claimed that “hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians choose to stay in Russian Crimea, debunking the myth of Russian “occupation” and “aggression” and American musicians and athletes “perform regularly on the Peninsula.”

“Waiting for the Declaration of the state Department that Kosovo is Serbia,” concluded the Russian Ministry.

On 25 July, the US state Department issued a statement Pompeo, which says that in Crimea, Russia “acted unworthy of a great nation, choosing isolation from the international community.”

“The United States reiterates its policy regarding the refusal of recognition of the claims of the Kremlin on the sovereignty over the territory occupied by force in violation of international law. In agreement with our allies, partners and the international community, the United States rejected an attempt by Russia to seize the Crimea”, – said the Secretary of state.

Russia annexed Crimea after the violent siege of Ukrainian military units and illegal referendum on 16 March 2014. The annexation of Crimea by Russia is not recognised by Ukraine and most countries of the world.
