The Ministry of economy predicts problems for Ukraine in 2020 due to structural imbalances accumulated problems. It is reported by the Department of strategic planning and macroeconomic forecasting Ministry of economic development, trade and agriculture of Ukraine.

According to the report, in 2020 will continue the reform in all spheres of the economy, modernization of industrial complex, the active renewal of the infrastructure.

“However, the factors that influenced the development of the economy in 2019, against the background of already formed in the previous periods of structural imbalances accumulated problems will hinder the growth of the economy as a whole”, – the document says.

The Ministry said that the growth of real gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in 2019 is estimated at 3.3%. According to the report, growth rates are almost identical with the figure of 2018 (3.4 percent) at the same time has changed the drivers of this growth.

So, significantly slowed the growth of the Composite index of production of goods and services by key economic activities (SIP) – to 1.6% overall by 2019, and in the last months of the year even observed his fall.

“First of all, this happened at the expense of the production sector, namely the complex situation in industry, where production declined after three years of growth. Also despite another record harvest of grain, slowed down significantly and agriculture. However, the high domestic demand generated strong performance in construction, trade and some industries in the service sector”, – the document says.

We will remind, the Prime Minister Alexey Goncharuk could not give a timeframe for the new tranches of the IMF. About a three-year program of $5.5 billion agreed in early December, but the timing of its adoption by the Fund are still unknown.

Earlier, the IMF said it will decide on the programme of assistance to Kiev, when the Ukrainian authorities will fulfill all the tasks set before them.
