Hundreds of rescuers continue to fight the fire

Chief architect of conservation of historical monuments Philip Villeneuve told leparisien that when the Notre Dame Cathedral, a fire broke out at the site did not have employees.

“It’s a disaster. I’m crying. I can’t imagine this catastrophe. At a time when there was a fire at the site was not a single worker,” he said.

In the Directorate-General civil security said that the rescuers could not extinguish the fire from the air because they can suffer surviving structure of the building and the people.

The Ministry added that in place of hundreds of rescuers. They use all possible methods of extinguishing fire, except for water bombing.

Hundreds of firemen of the Paris Fire Brigade are doing everything they can to bring the terrible #NotreDame fire under control. All means are being used, except for water-bombing aircrafts which, if used, could lead to the collapse of the entire structure of the cathedral.

The fire in the Cathedral broke out April 15. According to preliminary information, it happened from-for repair work in the building. Rescuers conduct a major operation to combat fire. No casualties were reported.

The fire has already collapsed spire and roof of the Cathedral.
