Suspect in attacks on women in Krivoy Rog Dnipropetrovsk region arrested by the court for 60 days. This was announced by first Deputy head of the National police of Ukraine Vyacheslav Abroskin, reports the press service of the Ministry.
Two victims of the attacks died.
“Victims of the man choked, raped and took away their personal belongings. For his search and arrest group was created from among the most experienced employees of the various services and of the criminal investigation Department of national police. To detain the malefactor managed thanks to a special operation with the participation of the woman who played the role of “bait”, – said Abroskin.
The victims were between 18 and 38 years, but they were outwardly similar to each other, moreover, coincided the time of the crime – after 21: 00, says the report of the national police.
Abroskin said that clarified all signs point to the seriality of crimes.
“June 18, we have established the person involved in the Commission of these crimes. Collected all the evidence. Today this man is arrested and contains in a temporary detention center. The man gives testimony, and almost all murders or robberies assembled evidence base. Today the malefactor declared suspicion in six episodes,” – said the first Deputy head of national police.
He added that police seized his mobile phones and personal belongings of victims, as well as other evidence pointing to the guilt of the detainee.
According to the chief of criminal investigation Department Sergey Tikhonov, to search criminal psychologist, which amounted to a psychological profile of the attacker.
“This allowed us to predict its actions, to understand his next steps and more accurately plan further actions of operatives in his establishment and detention,” – said Tikhonov.
Detained and arrested the resident of Krivoy Rog for 35 years. He was previously convicted, was released from prison at the end of 2017.
Investigators described the men at the St. 187 (robbery) and article 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. The suspect is threatened by punishment in the form of lifelong imprisonment.
