Turkey almost stopped buying Russian gas, despite the launch of Turkish stream. Ankara gives the preference to the gas of Azerbaijan.
Turkey has reduced purchases of Russian gas in 1127 times since the beginning of the year, according to the Polish edition Еnergianews.
In June, Turkey’s share in Gazprom’s exports amounted to 0.01%.
“Within two years, Turkey has fundamentally reoriented its gas market with the imported Russian crude to gas from Azerbaijan and LNG terminals. According to the Federal customs service of Russia, Turkey imported 2 million cubic meters of Russian gas pipeline in June. It’s in 1127 times less than in January and 585 times less than in may. For comparison, in 2018, Turkey bought from Gazprom 23,96 billion cubic meters of gas in 2019, only 15 billion cubic meters”, – stated in the message.
