A NOTE addressed to the Ukrainian government for help because of the arrest of accounts

The national public broadcasting company of Ukraine said that its accounts were seized. This is stated in the message a NOTE in Facebook.

“On February 18, the Ministry of justice of Ukraine opened enforcement proceedings on the recovery of Public debt in the amount of 10 million 591 thousand. 224 Euro 48 cents and 73 080 UAH, court fee in favour of joint-stock company “Euronews”, – said in a NOTE.

As noted by the Public, the cooperation of the former state National television company of Ukraine Euronews has started in 2010 before the creation of the public broadcaster. Subsequently, the budget has ceased to allocate money for the payment of license fees according to the agreement on creation of Ukrainian version of Euronews, and all debt passed to the Public.

“Now the arrest of accounts makes it impossible to prepare to broadcast the Olympic games in 2020 [July-August], inhibits the provision of Ukraine’s participation in “Eurovision 2020” [in may], stopped the launch of new Public projects, in particular the launch of a new public Studio in the channel “NTU”, informs the NOTE.

According to representatives of the broadcaster, will soon arrest will also lead to a complete halt the activities of the broadcasting company.

The NOTE said that he had appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of culture, youth and sports and the Ministry of justice but received no reply or support.

“We realize that even at the approach of the expenditures under the budget program as provided for in this year for television and radio, all obtained from the budget of the funds will be transferred immediately from the accounts of public broadcaster to the company Euronews. Therefore, planned and statutory budget for the year 2020, the public broadcaster did almost 300 million UAH”, – stated in the message NOTE.

About the problems with the financing of the Public in 2018, said Chairman NOTE Zurab Alasania. According to him, from the state budget for the year 2019 public broadcaster allocated 1,005 billion, although it should have been – 1,816 billion.
