On the occupied territory of Donetsk region damaged South Donbass conduit. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry of occupied territories and internally displaced persons of Ukraine with reference to pictures obtained as a result of the satellite study.

So, the satellite images of visible water-filled quarry with an area of about 24 thousand m2 in the area of Yasynuvata interchange, which is located in 1400 meters away from the Donetsk filtering station. Also in the pictures is fixed the bogging area near the route of the aqueduct.

“Damage to the South Donbass conduit in the industrial area of Avdeevka of Donetsk region, probably arose from the use of heavy weapons. Satellite images 2018, you can see significant vadovelis, which was not in 2016,” – said the press service.

The Ministry said that this situation negatively affects the water supply of the population in the occupied territories, and the government-controlled Ukraine territories. The conduit feeds water Dokuchaevsk, Mariupol, Volnovakha, Ugledar and Novotroitsk.

Due to leakage of water into the quarry there is a threat to the drinking water supply for 1.3 million residents of these cities.

The armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine began in April 2014. Fighting underway between the Armed forces of Ukraine and Pro-Russian rebels who control part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Regularly shelled the Donetsk filtering station, which is located between Avdeevka and Yasinovataya. It partially provides water, Avdeevka, Krasnogorovka and Verkhnetoretskoye, which are under the control of the Armed forces of Ukraine. Also, the station provides water occupied by fighters of settlements: part of Donetsk, Yasinovataya, villages Vasilevka and Spartak.

12 June 2018 in the Ministry of the occupied territories and IDPs reported that samples of surface waters in the Donbass have shown that water in the region of “dirty” or “very dirty”.
