Reserves of gas in underground storage has reached nearly 19 billion cubic meters. Last year was a record 21.7 billion cubic meters.

This year in Ukraine is expected to record gas reserves, predicts the head of Naftogaz Andrey Kobelev.

“We are actively working to increase the storage capacity of foreign companies in the Ukrainian gas storages. In fact, it is happening now. As of June, the volume in storage approaches 19 billion cubic meters, which is a relatively positive indicator. We hope to reach a new record at the end of this injection season”, – he said during the discussion on Thursday, June 18.

In turn, chief Executive officer of Naftogaz, Otto Waterlander said that the company plans to re-start production of hydrocarbons on the shelf of the Black sea with the involvement of investors.

“We have the ambition to go to the Black sea, we are sure that large resources,” he said.

Waterlander noted that earlier the company carried out the production on the black sea shelf near the Crimea, however, after the annexation of the Peninsula Russia this activity was discontinued.

We will note, in may the enterprises of Ukraine imported gas at an average price of $98 (2631 UAH) per thousand cubic meters.

The price of gas for Ukraine’s population declined in may by 21% to 2,275 UAH per cubic meters (VAT bases and margins), and YTD – 50%.
