Ukraine does not consider the receipt of funds from international partners to any victory, said Daniel Getmantsev.
Ukraine may refuse from the necessity of obtaining new loans from the International monetary Fund in the medium term in three to four years. About this informed the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, tax and customs policy Daniel Getmantsev in an interview with UNIAN, published on Monday, may 25.
“In the medium term (three to four years) our goal in credit policy – to stop lending to the International monetary Fund, paying him all due debts. It’s real. We need to replace the expensive loans for cheaper short – long. To reduce the amount of debt as possible, and to increase the hryvnia part in the structure of public debt,” said Getmantsev.
He recalled that currently, the parties reached a preliminary agreement on a new 18-month funding program stand-by for the sum about $ 5 billion, the first tranche is expected within two to three weeks.
“I’m not ready to talk about the other amounts from other organizations, but the negotiations with the world Bank and the European Commission on the provision of funds. It is very important that we do not consider the receipt of funds from international partners by any victory on our part. We understand that this is, unfortunately, a necessary measure, which provoked a crisis and needed to get out of it with minimal losses,” – said Getmantsev.
Recall that Ukraine and the IMF agreed on a stand-by loan of 5 billion currently, the agreement reached at the working level, the IMF management will consider it in the near future. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal expects tranche under the new program with the IMF next week.
Earlier, the head of the national Bank Yakov Smoliy said that all tranches of the IMF loan will be spent to cover a record budget deficit of nearly 300 billion hryvnias, which was formed because of the situation with the pandemic coronavirus.
