Martin Fourcade does not exclude that he will retire from biathlon soon.
Five-time Olympic champion Martin Fourcade commented on his results at the world championship and noted that it could be his last.
The Frenchman won in Antholz gold medals in individual race and relay, and a bronze medal in the sprint.
“It was a great championship. I’m all happy – and the atmosphere, and results. This is a great place for competitions: a good natural snow, amazing nature and beautiful struggle in every race. For all this we love the biathlon.
I will find victory in the relay along with countrymen. It means a lot to me and shows a high level team of France. Our men’s team never would have been such a successful championship.
Do not rule out that it was my last world Cup, but all the important decisions I will make at the end of the season. In the meantime, I need to focus on the fight against Johannes for the Big crystal globe, said Fourcade.
Note that Fourcade won the Small crystal globe in the individual races.
