Scheduled for November 11 so-called “elections” in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions contradict the Minsk agreements on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass.

This was stated by the special representative of the OSCE Chairman in Ukraine and in the Trilateral contact group Martin Sajdik at the meeting of the Trilateral contact group in Minsk on 6 November, the press service of the OSCE.

“The issue of the so-called “elections” in ORDO and the astronomical clock, which is scheduled for next Sunday, were raised during the plenary session of the Trilateral contact group. In this regard, let me repeat the assertion made earlier stance: I believe that the so-called “elections” does not match neither the letter nor the spirit of the Minsk agreements,” said Sidik.

As reported, on 6 November, following the meeting of the Trilateral contact group and its subgroups, the first Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s representative to the humanitarian subgroup Irina Gerashchenko said that at the talks in Minsk, Russia officially stated that it recognizes the illegal “elections” of militants in the Donbas.

Recall that in the Kremlin today has shared his expectations of the “elections” in the Donbas.
