“Of course I believe. I am familiar with Mikhail. I was in Georgia a year ago. People say, “that’s built Mike. Until 2003 we were a broken country. Nothing. And then came Saakashvili, and now we are again country. And again, we respect each other”. This does not mean that Georgia is today a thriving country. This does not mean that Georgia has no problems. But even the current leadership of the Georgian party Georgian dream cannot roll back the reforms that Saakashvili did, because they are popular”, – said the economist.
According to him, while working in Georgia, Saakashvili made a number of errors.
“People liked it, it’s a very important thing. Often say: “it is Necessary to carry out reforms as quickly as possible, while there is a window of opportunity.” In fact, the reforms must benefit the people. People should know that these reforms for them. Not to them in some way to torture, and to make the country richer. Saakashvili made many mistakes, but nevertheless, this man who held many outstanding reforms. I am familiar with many of his Ministers. Outstanding people. You asked me about prosperity – I’m not a rich man. I know that many of them are not rich people, not living in luxury,” said Guriev.
