In Ukraine, more than 27 thousand children-orphans are on the housing register to improve housing conditions

The Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Gunduz Mammadov filed in the District administrative court of Kiev the claim about recognition illegal inactivity of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ministry of social policy and the Ministry of community development and of the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by press-service of Office of public Prosecutor on 7 August.

Public authorities contrary to the requirements of law for nearly 10 years has developed and approved the procedure for keeping a home for children who, as a result of death of parents, deprivation of parental rights, disease or other reasons were left without parental care, noted in a press-service.

This inactivity is violating housing and property rights of children of these categories, special protection of which is guaranteed by the state.

“In Ukraine, more than 27 thousand children are on the housing register to improve housing conditions. From the state budget annually allocates considerable sums for these purposes, in particular in 2020 allocated 717 million 700 thousand UAH. However, the use of funds are allowed numerous violations”, – is told in the message.

The Prosecutor’s office began pre-judicial investigation on 28 criminal proceedings on the facts of embezzlement and prepared claims in the amount of 12.3 million UAH.
