Electroanalyt Slovenian company has been successfully certified by the European aviation safety Agency.

The plane Velis Electro manufacturing company Pipistrel from Slovenia became the world’s first aircraft with an electric motor, which has been successfully certified by the European aviation safety Agency (EASA). This is clearly not the last machine of this type, said the Executive Director of the European aviaregister Patrick Ki on Wednesday, June 10. The certification process lasted less than three years, reports DW.

Getting Velis Electro access operation is “a tremendous breakthrough,” said Ki. The aviation industry is actively using new technologies to reduce noise levels and emissions, he said.

Double unit will be used primarily for pilot training. Pipistrel CEO Ivo Boscarol hoped that the access to the market inspire to action and other manufacturers of electric motors for aircraft.
