The device produces electrical energy from the difference between light and shadow.

The device, created by scientists from the National University of Singapore, called Shadow-Effect Energy Generator (SEG). And this is a real working prototype, says nv.ua.

SEG uses the difference between darkness and light in order to produce electricity.

The device itself consists of several stripes of film of pure gold on a silicon substrate, which in turn is placed on a plastic base.

The developers claim that the cost of production of such a device in times less than in conventional solar panels.

While SEG is much more effective, as the shadows that make solar panels totally useless, on the contrary, lead to the production of energy in the case of new technology.
