Venediktov criticizes the work of Golodnitsky (far right)

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova in an interview to “Ukrainian news”, which was released on 9 June, said that an internal investigation confirmed a number of violations in the work of the head of the Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office of Nazar Golodnitsky.

“An internal investigation is completed. The facts of violation of requirements of the Criminal procedural code, law “On Prosecutor’s office” and the regulations on Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office confirmed. The disciplinary complaint referred to the disciplinary Committee,” – said Venediktov.

She stated that it is associated with Holodnenkim “only a working relationship”.

“On November 30 he expire and by law and by contract. In any case, it will happen. But we are opening a competition for the new head of SAP, and if Nazar Ivanovich will want to participate if the members of the Commission elected, then who knows. View. If he will take part in the contest and win it, why not?” – said Venediktov, answering the question whether the Holodnitsky chance to get re-elected head of the SAP.

In comments “Ukrainian truth” Holodnitsky said that he learned about the completion of the internal investigation from the media.

SAP supervises the observance of laws when carrying out quickly-search activity, pre-trial investigation of the National anti-corruption Bureau and prosecutes in their respective industries. Holodnitsky headed the Department from November 2015. In an interview with “Ukrainian truth”, which was released on June 1, he refused to answer the question of whether to participate in the new competition. “Let’s keep the intrigue until the end,” said Holodnitsky.

At the end of may 2020 Venediktov criticized the SAP and called it ineffective. In SAP replied that in accordance with the law on Prosecutor’s office, the Prosecutor General and his deputies have no right to give instructions to the officers of anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office.
