Management companies may be involved in widespread abuse, said the attorney General’s Office

Militiamen carried out searches in premises of the Odessa commercial sea port, seaport authorities and their structural divisions. About it on February 19 informed the press-service of Office of public Prosecutor of Ukraine.

According to law enforcement authorities, the management of these companies may be involved in large-scale abuses that the government was annually losing money in especially large sizes.

“Within five years, officials of these state enterprises were probably leased to close to them commercial entities tugs port state fleet at significantly reduced rates. According to the investigation, the management of the port is adopted for business rates that are ten times were below actual costs and rental rates do not include surcharges for work on weekends and at night. However, the cost of maintenance, fuel and repair of tugs Odessa commercial sea port was carried out at a loss,” – said the press service.

The Agency added that the companies-tenants provided services for the towing that were previously provided by state-owned enterprises, and received from the ship owners substantial profits, which were to come in the budget.
