In 2020, the interest rate can decrease to 8%. This was stated by the head of the national Bank Yakov Smoliy in an interview with Vladimir Fedorin Friday, January 10.

“We have all the prerequisites in order to lower interest rates more rapidly. The interest rate of 8% should be expected in the next year (interview was recorded on 27 December 2019 and issued on 8 January – ed.)” – said resin.

According to him, the NBU had planned reduction in the discount rate to 8% per annum no earlier than 2021-go, however, while macroeconomic preconditions give rise to more radical decrease.
