Razumkov: We send bills to the constitutional Court. And then we are ready to send to the Venice Commission to give its opinion

The speaker of Parliament Dmitry Razumkov broadcast channel “1+1” September 5, stated that it was not against the direction to the Venice Commission of legislative initiatives on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.

The people’s Deputy from “European solidarity” Irina Gerashchenko noted that the corresponding draft resolution No. 2073 was registered in the Parliament, and asked Razumkov whether these bills sent to the Venice Commission.

“We sent it to the constitutional Court. And then we are ready to send to the Venice Commission to give its opinion. It is normal practice. Don’t see the problem,” said Razumkov.

At the meeting on 3 September the deputies sent to the constitutional Court and brought in the agenda of the session, seven bills on changes to the text of the Basic law of Ukraine. They concern in particular the elimination of the advocate’s monopoly, giving people powers of legislative initiative, reducing the number of MPs to 300 and the cancellation of a mazhoritarka, additional grounds for the early termination of Deputy powers.

Representative in the constitutional Court of Ukraine Fedor Venislavskiy stated that these draft laws, the deputies will consider at the next session, which will begin in 2020.

First Vice-speaker of Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk previously stated that the party “servant of the people” a total of 465 has prepared amendments to the Constitution.
