Ukrtransnafta is gradually catching up nedorabotannaya volumes caused by the shutdown of the Druzhba pipeline in April.

In August the total volume of oil transported via the system of trunk oil pipelines of Ukraine, has reached 1,617 million tons, which is by 27.9% more than in August 2018. This was reported on the website Ukrtransnafta Thursday, September 5.

“This is a record volume of transported oil per month from April 2015”, – stated in the message.

The company said that for Ukraine’s refineries, the volume increased compared to the same period last year by 23.3% to 227,7 thousand tons. It is also the highest monthly figure for the last four and a half years. And the transit of oil to Europe compared with August last year increased by 28.7% to 1,390 million tons. The last time a greater volume of transit of oil per month (1,547 million tonnes) Ukrtransnafta provided in March 2015.

By results of eight months, the total volume of oil transit to Ukrainian and European consumers is 9,544 million tons (5.3% lower compared to the same period in 2018). Including transit for Ukrainian refineries amounted to 1,522 million tonnes (9.8% more than in January-August 2018), and transit to the EU – 8,022 million tonnes (a decrease of 7.7% compared to the same period in 2018).

“In August Ukrtransnafta ensured the transit of even larger amounts of oil than anticipated at the beginning of the month. Therefore, the company is gradually catching up nedorabotannaya volumes caused by the shutdown of the Druzhba pipeline in April,” said Director General of Ukrtransnafta Nikolai Gavrilenko.

The company was reminded that the reduction in transit volumes of oil, affect the overall rate of transport is due to the forced shutdown of the Druzhba pipeline, April 25.

Earlier it was reported that oil transit through Ukraine to Europe for seven months in 2019 decreased by 12.8% (to 979 thousand tons) compared to the same period of 2018 to 6 million 633 thousand tons.
